Q1- Can I confidently
purchase a VersAtelier garment on-line?
A1- VersAtelier Corsets has been in business since 1977. Our high quality
corsets are designed and custom crafted to fit better than mass
produced "off the rack" garments. We take special care
to obtain all the necessary measurements and information to make
sure your corset fits properly. In addition, our corsets are
fully lined and reinforced with ribbing around the waist to make
sure they don't tear or stretch too much. Our corsets also
feature a satin lacing guard for comfort. We stand behind our
craftsmanship so if you're not totally satisfied with your
garment, we'll work hard to remedy the problem and make sure
you're completely happy with your purchase. We have thousands of

Airmail shipping takes 7-14 Business days and Express (air) shipping takes 5-7 business days.
For payment we accept Credit Cards, PayPal payments and International Money

Q3- How do I
place my order?
A3- Use our automated and secure
shopping basket system to place your order on-line. You will have the option to
pay by credit card or print the order form and pay by check, mailing or faxing

Q4- How is
payment handled?
A4- You may submit your credit card
information through our secure server, by PayPal or by fax or telephone. You may
also send your payment by mail. Please use the website shopping cart so you will
have an order number assigned. Instructions for each type of payment are
provided in the shopping cart. Print or write down your order number for
reference. We accept MasterCard, VISA and American Express. (Discover Card
payments can be made through PayPal). If you submit your payment in money order
or check work will not begin on your garment until funds are deposited into our
account. If you
choose to send your payment by mail or fax, please be advised that your order
will be deleted after 15 days if we do not receive your payment. To receive sale
prices, your payment must be received within 10 days of the end of the sale.
Out of country payments must be submitted in US funds or credit card.
Q5- What time
frame should I expect?
A5- Since each garment is made to
order the normal manufacturing time is between 3 and 4 weeks*.
Note that shipment time and cost must be added to this. If you choose Rush
Service (see Q17 below), additional fees apply and will be calculated by the
shopping cart system.
Q6- Will I be
comfortable and able to breathe wearing a VersAtelier
Corset?
A6- Corsets by
VersAtelier are created to fit your body so it's snug, but
not uncomfortable. A well-made corset fits comfortably at the
ribs and hips and compresses only your waist, allowing for easy
breathing.
Q7- How much
will my waist be reduced?
A7- VersAtelier
Corsets are designed for a 2-4 inch waist reduction
depending on the style of corset. If you'd like more restriction, please notify
us.
Q8- Are your
corsets only for women with perfect figures?
A8- VersAtelier
specializes in custom made corsets that will fit and
flatter you beautifully. We make corsets for men and women of all
body types, shapes and sizes.
Q9- Will my
corset help me lose weight?
A9- While you may
feel like eating lighter, a corset is not a proper weight loss
program. We recommend this be done with proper nutrition and
exercise under the supervision of your physician. A corset
restricts your waist and causes your organs to re-align. However,
your stomach, while compressed when wearing the corset, will
return to normal size when you take it off. If you wish to
maintain organ re-alignment while sleeping, a comfortable
VersAtelier Sleeping Corset is recommended.
Q10- What
style do you suggest for a male?
A10- For masculine
wear, we recommend the Venus or Hiplette corset. These are
designed to be easily worn under men's pants if so desired.
Q11- Can I
lend my corset to a friend to wear?
A11- Your VersAtelier
Corset will mold to your body contours like a fine pair
of shoes. Lending it to someone else to wear is not recommended.
Q12- Is your
merchandise guaranteed?
A12- All merchandise
from VersAtelier Corsets is guaranteed to be free
from defect and may be returned for repair (or replacement at our
discretion) at no charge within 30 days from date of receipt. All returns must
have a Return Authorization Number issued by our Accounting Department or they
will be refused. An R.A. number may be obtained by calling 714-538-0579
Q13- What is
your cancellation / refund policy?
A13- Orders cancelled after 72 hours
will be assessed a 20% restock fee. If you wish to cancel your order and receive
a refund, you must call 714-538-0579 and speak to our
Accounting Department to verify your information. No refunds
will be issued on custom made merchandise that has been made to
customer specifications or on garments that we deem to have been
subjected to abnormal abuse or stress. Non-defective returns are at the
discretion of VersAtelier Corsets and (if authorized) will be issued store
credit.
Items that have been
worn, or not in original condition as when they were received by purchaser are
not returnable.
Q14- I know my size, why are measurements
requested?
A14- If you're ordering a corset, measurements
will always be required as we make your corset to your measurements to
ensure a proper fit at the top, middle and bottom. Sometimes measurements
indicate that our standard pattern will not fit due to the individuals
proportions. In this case we will recommend customization which is an additional
20%. It's always advisable to submit measurements to allow our experts to review
them.
Q15- What is the difference between a
corset, a corselet and a fashion bustier or fashion cincher?
A15- Corsets and corselets are designed for
the customer who wants to restrict their waist and create a more curvaceous figure. 4
inches for corsets, 2 inches for corselets. As such they are designed with
interior and exterior qualities and materials to facilitate this without
tearing. A fashion bustier or fashion cincher is designed with the sexy look of
a corset, but do not provide restriction. Their favorable qualities are
different. They are lighter weight (better for hot temperatures), not as restrictive
to movement and easier (and faster) to get into (or out of). They have several
options for front closure. Because they require less materials and time to
fabricate, they are a less expensive alternative to corsets or corselets.
Q16- How should I clean my VersAtelier
Garment?
A16- Dry cleaning is the recommended method.
Q17- What should I know about Rush Fee
Service?
A17- Rush Fee Service is offered on a
as-available basis. At times our factory is too busy to handle any additional
Rush Orders or component materials may not be available. In such cases we will
notify you by email or telephone. *5 Day Rush and *10 Day Rush refers to
manufacturing time (in work days) only. Choose the appropriate shipping option
for your needs. The manufacturing time period begins from when your payment
clears. To avoid delays, use your VISA, MASTERCARD OR AMERICAN EXPRESS. PayPal
and Check payments will need to be registered as on deposit in our account
before work begins. This can take up to 5 Days.
* This is a target goal and not
guaranteed as circumstances may require longer.
Q18- Can a corset help my back problems?
A-18- Using a corset to help alleviate
pressure on the spinal column is sometimes recommended by physicians for various
back problems. We advise you consult with your doctor before attempting
self-treatment. If a corset is recommended, you may find wearing it backwards,
with the steel busks lining up with the back-bone gives excellent support and
relieves pressure. For men, the 104 Venus corset is perfectly suited for this
purpose.
